ON Rules 2003
Belgian Participants
The section Mechelen invites all amateurs to participate in the ON-contest 2003.
Remarks: There's also a 6m category, and the multiplier ON4UB (UBA) is no
longer valid.

Each time from 8 till 12 local time (between 6 and 10 UTC).

Report
For all categories : RS(T) + QSO-number + abbreviation of the UBA member section.
Example 59001 MCL.
IARU contest frequencies are recommended:
- CW : 3510 - 3560 Khz
- SSB : 3600 - 3650 and 3700 - 3775 KHz
Points
For all categories:
- 3 points for each QSO
- 3 points for each heard ON station (SWLs)
Multipliers
Each new UBA section is a valid multiplier
Remark: ON stations which are no UBA member will give XXX (which is
also a valid multiplier).
Final score
Total QSO points multiplied by total number of multipliers.Classes
For each of the 3 contest categories, 5 classes are available:
- ON stations
- ONL
- UBA sections
For each class, only sections which provided a log for minimum 5
participants (3 participants for 80m CW) with each at least 25 valid QSOs, or
25 heard stations. The points of the 3 best results will be summed
together to make up the section ranking. The final ranking of the
sections is calculated by dividing the section totals by a factor which is
determined by the average of the points of the first 3 ON stations in the
related contest category / 10000.

Remarks:
- On 80m CW, a special class is available for QRP ON stations.
Participants should clearly state "QRP" on their log header, and add a
declaration that they operated with a maximum power of 5 Watt.
- On 2m, a special class is available for QRP stations. Participants
should clearly state "QRP" on their log header, and add a declaration that
they operated with a maximum power of 10 Watt.
- Due to the short duration of the contest, both single- and multioperator
stations are allowed. Both will be listed in the same class.
Throphies
Each winning ON station will receive a paper. In each contest class, a
sign (plaque) is available for the winning station.
The winning sections will receive a paper. A trophy is also available
for the winner (total of points) of all categories.
Logs
A log should contain following information:
- Time of QSO (UTC)
- Call
- RST-S
- RST-R
- Points
- Multiplier
A log (SWLs) should contain following information:
- Time of QSO (UTC)
- Call
- RST-S
- RST-R (at SWL)
- Call (remote)
- Points
- Multiplier
Additional remarks:
- Duplicate QSOs should be removed
- Specify your address
- Specify your UBA section (logs without won't count for the section ranking)
- Invalid sections will not count as multiplier
- Specify that you acted according the contest rules.
- SWLs can only list a maximum of 10 QSOs for the same station. (same on
VHF)
- SWLs should not list the other stations call (VHF only).
Penalties and disqualification
A penalty of 5 times the number of QSO points is given for each non-removed
duplicate QSO.Logs with more than 3% non-removed duplicate QSOs will be
disqualified.
Contact
Logs should be mailed within 3 weeks after the related contest to
ON5WL.
