De Ring

Introduction

At the end of 2005 some clubs realized that organizing events was becoming more and more difficult for various reasons. Some people get older and prefer to practice their hobby from within their own shack, others practice aspects of the hobby that aren't often done at club events, ...  Also at meetings, we often see the same faces, and the same discussions about the same topics.  Despite the new ON3 license, and a lowered effort to become an amateur radio station, the current situation is unlikely to change in a short time.

Concept

With these problems in mind, a number of clubs within the same geographical region organized some informal meetings between ON4CHO (Jan - Herentals),  ON7WP (Pedro - Heist od. Berg), ON4ASB (Bart - Lier) and ON5GO (Frans - Mechelen) to discuss the idea of a loose cooperation between their respective clubs.  As a result of this, "De Ring" was born on January 11th, 2006 and subscribes to the following basic concepts;

The actual mission of "De Ring" is defined as follows.

As a result of this "De Ring" believes that the quality of events accross different clubs can be improved and again welcome a bigger number of members.
